Barbecue Pork Chops Recipe

Oh pork chops… oh how I love you. BBQ Pork chops… oh I love you more. 🙂 I don’t know any one who doesn’t love BBQ, and my love for BBQ just got better with this easy recipe.

I used to be nervous cooking with pork and for some reason it always intimidated me. I’m not sure why, but pork chops screamed “I’m too hard to cook” when I was younger. Anyone else?

Now I know better. Pork chops are so easy to make and they are such a fun and easy weeknight meal.

Now I love my crock pot pork chops with sauce and my italian crock pot pork chops, but I honestly prefer this easy Skillet BBQ pork chops recipe over all my other recipes.

Dinner is ready in 20 minutes… yep 20 minutes! Plus, the flavor is amazing and the skillet makes it so quick. Check out more easy Stove Top Recipes and quick and easy pork chops recipes.

Barbecue Pork Chops taste amazing!

The pork is moist and tender with hardly any work at all. You can make this on busy school nights. It really is that easy!

Now for this recipe, you are going to need bbq sauce, but not just any sauce – KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce. You can use any flavor, but we really enjoyed the hickory brown sugar one.

It has a sweet and smokey flavor that pairs nicely with the pork. I promise, you are going to love it.

By the way, did you know that all KC Masterpiece barbecue sauce and marinade varieties are gluten free, except for Caribbean Jerk marinade and Honey Teriyaki marinade? How awesome is that?

Ingredients for Barbecue Pork Chops:

Ingredients:

  • boneless pork chops
  • smoked paprika
  • garlic powder
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • olive oil

Homemade Barbecue Sauce:

  • ketchup
  • brown sugar
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • apple cider vinegar
  • Dijon mustard
  • smoked paprika
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder
  • black pepper

How to make Barbecue Pork Chops in a skillet:

1. In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Rub the mixture evenly over both sides of the pork chops.

2. In a separate bowl, whisk together all the ingredients for the homemade barbecue sauce until well combined. Set aside.

3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned pork chops and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

4. Reduce the heat to medium-low and pour the homemade barbecue sauce over the pork chops. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked through (internal temperature should reach 145°F) and the sauce has thickened slightly.

5. Remove the skillet from the heat and let the pork chops rest in the sauce for 3-5 minutes.

6. Serve the pork chops hot, with extra sauce spooned over the top.

What to serve with skillet bbq pork chops?

I like to serve it with Mashed potatoes or brown rice so I have something to spoon that delicious BBQ sauce over. Yum!

Add a veggie side dish like green beans or steamed broccoli and you are set for a great meal! All of these options are super easy and don’t take much time.

Make sure you have a good skillet to make this boneless pork chops skillet recipe.

We use a cast iron skillet and it’s perfect for this recipe. I have the Lodge cast iron skillet but you can see all the different brands here.

Cast iron is amazing! You can make so many different recipes and they are great for skillet recipes.

If you are not already cooking with one, you should! They are amazing and the food cooks so evenly.

Don’t be hesitant to use cast iron because it really is simple to use and maintain. It cooks the food so evenly and recipes turn out great.

Recipe Notes

I would probably do around 6 ounce chops. If you do thicker, you will need to adjust the cooking times.
The homemade barbecue sauce can be made in advance and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
If you like your barbecue sauce spicier, add a dash of hot sauce to the mixture.
Refrigerate the leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
